The surrounding local area offers astounding views of the Sussex countryside, Mt. Caburn with it's Iron Age fort to one side, and Beddingham Hill and the South Downs to the other.


The historic county town of Lewes 2 ½ miles away, (also accessible by footpath and cyclepath), with local pubs within 1 mile.


Lewes is situated on the river Ouse, and home to the ruins of a great Norman Castle. The many narrow medieval streets and twittens are teeming with quirky independent craft and antique shops and markets, as well as cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Glyndebourne Opera House is a short drive, with the ferry port of Newhaven only 5 miles away.
